Taiwan Youth and Overseas Expatriate Bridging Program Subsidy, and
came into effect the same day.
3.Amended all articles by OCAC order Qiao-Zong-Qi-Zi No.1070700253
on March 6, 2018, and came into effect the same day.
Content: I.The Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC hereafter) has set 
  these Directions for the selection of Taiwanese youth to go 
  overseas in summer vacation for visits and study to build a bridge 
  for interaction between Taiwanese youth and overseas compatriot 
  communities and to increase the understanding of overseas compatriot
  work of Taiwanese youth and widen their international vision.

II.Eligibility:
1.Currently-enrolled students at a college in Taiwan with ROC nationality 
  and meeting the age requirement announced in the program prospectus 
  every year by the OCAC.
2.Achieved above Intermediate level in the General English Proficiency 
  Test (or equivalent to another English proficiency test).
3.Have not previously received a subsidy under these Directions and do 
  not at the same time receive a subsidy from other government agencies
  to conduct a project or undertake further study overseas.

III.The subsidy items and amount shall be adjusted according to the 
    OCAC’s annual budget and shall be the following subsidy items in 
    principle: 
1.Roundtrip economy class air ticket from Taiwan to the city where training 
  is taking place, insurance fee and visa fee.
2.Reception fee of host family.

IV.As the budget differs year to year, subsidy quota, subsidy items, 
   subsidy amount, activity locations, activity period and contents, 
   application time, application procedure, selection procedure and schedule 
   will be separately announced in the program prospectus every year.

V.Disbursement and write-off:
1.Within 30 days of departure, the subsidy recipient shall submit the 
 “List of Income and Expenditure for the Provision of Public Funds Subsidy 
  to Groups or Individuals by the OCAC” (format as shown in attachment 1), 
  travel agency receipt or other documentary proof of payment and related 
  receipts for subsidy items as stipulated in the prospectus to apply for
  half of the subsidy amount.
2.Within 30 days of the day after the completion of the visit itinerary, 
  the subsidy recipient shall submit the “Results Report Form” (format as 
  shown in attachment 2), air ticket stub or e-ticket and boarding pass stubs.
  After approval by the OCAC, the balance of the subsidy will be paid by the 
  OCAC.
3.Unless the OCAC agrees to give the subsidy recipient exemption from
  providing documentary proof for a special reason, the required documentary 
  proof shall be provided as in the regulations when applying for disbursement
  and write-off. 
4.The subsidized host family must submit the “List of Income and Expenditure
  for the Provision of Public Funds Subsidy to Groups or Individuals by the 
  OCAC” as shown in attachment 1 to facilitate disbursement by the OCAC. 

VI.With regard to any subsidy recipient who any of the following circumstances
   may apply to, the OCAC can deduct the subsidy or cancel the subsidy 
   depending on the seriousness of the situation and demand return of the 
   excess or already-received subsidy, and also bar the recipient involved 
   from applying for the same subsidy for three years: 
1.Failure to carry out obligations according to the regulations.
2.The application form or the “Results Report Form” are not truthful.
3.Accepted applicants cannot take part in the program and do not notify the
  OCAC in writing at least 15 days before departure, apart from in special
  circumstances.

VII.For matters not covered in these Directions, they will be handled in 
    accordance with the yearly prospectus and related laws and regulations.
