Title: Directions of Rewarding Generous and Voluntary Donation from Overseas Compatriots Ch

Content: 1.These Directions are set by the Overseas Community Affairs 
  Council(OCAC) and work as guidelines for the OCAC to reward 
  overseas compatriots for their generous and voluntary donation.

2.The donations in these Directions refer to donations to the 
  military, disaster relief, charity, cultural education, or 
  other purposes that serve the purpose of public welfare.

3.The reward types are as follows:
(1)Awarding of a certificate.
(2)Award of a gold medal or a silver medal.
(3)Award of a plaque.
(4)Presidential praise.

4.For those who donate to domestic or overseas compatriot 
  communities for charity purposes, their donations are 
  evaluated in TWD and are rewarded according to the 
  following criteria. In the case of donation in foreign 
  currencies or non-monetary donations whose value is 
  converted according to Direction 5, they shall also be 
  rewarded according to the criteria in Direction 4.
(1)If the amount of a one-time donation is more than NT$ 100,000 
   but less than NT$ 300,000, the Minister of the OCAC will award 
   the certificate.
(2)The silver medal will be awarded by the Minister of the OCAC 
   if the amount of a one-time donation is more than NT$ 300,000 
   but less than NT$ 1 million.
(3)The gold medal will be awarded by the Minister of the OCAC if 
   the amount of a one-time donation is more than NT$ 1 million 
   but less than NT$ 3 million.
(4)If the amount of a one-time donation is more than NT$ 3 million, 
   the Minister of the OCAC will award the plaque.
(5)If the amount of a one-time donation is more than NT$ 11 million 
   but less than NT$ 50 million and meets application  requirements, 
   the OCAC will apply to the Premier of the Executive Yuan to award 
   the plaque.
(6)A donation with a total amount of more than NT$ 50 million or a 
   cumulative amount of more than NT$ 100 million, which meets the 
   requirements in the Praise and Commendation Act and its Enforcement 
   Rules, can be reported to the Executive Yuan for review and 
   submitted to the President for plaque awarding or presidential 
   praise.
  One-time donation that meet Subparagraphs 4 and 5, or 4 and 6, at 
  the same time will be treated by Subparagraph 5 or 6 respectively, 
  and no additional awards shall be given.

5.For donors abroad, the rewarding details must be submitted to the 
  OCAC for review and approval by the overseas offices.
  Donation in foreign currencies or non-monetary donations will be 
  converted to TWD according to the following criteria:
(1)Donations made overseas are converted to TWD by the overseas 
   offices according to the exchange rate of the donation time and 
   the local market price.
(2)Donations made domestically are converted to TWD by the OCAC 
   according to the spot selling rate of the Bank of Taiwan on the 
   donation day and the local market price.

6.For donations made through fundraising, if the donation amount 
  reaches more than five times the standard amount specified in the 
  Direction 4, the reward shall be reviewed and approved in accordance 
  with the provisions in the same Direction.

7.When the central or a local government receives and transfers a 
  donation from overseas compatriots and submits related papers to 
  the OCAC, the latter shall review the donation according to Direction 
  4 and 6.

8.These Directions are applicable to donations made by legal persons 
  or groups established by overseas compatriot community.
