For males of conscription age who has naturalized as a citizen of
the R.O.C. (TAIWAN) and who had applied for and been issued with
an Overseas Compatriot Identity Certificate for Military Service
before the enforcement of the Overseas Compatriot Identity
Certification Act, which enter into force on December 20, 2002,
the calculation of accumulating residence overseas for at least
four years commences from the applicant’s date of birth.
For those who apply for an Overseas Compatriot Identity Certificate
for Military Service after the enforcement of the Overseas Compatriot
Identity Certification Act, the calculation commences from the
date on which the applicant has naturalized as a citizen of the
R.O.C. (TAIWAN).
